Set in the 1970's in a pretty corner of India (in Darjeeling), Barfi is the story of three young people who learn that love can neither be defined nor contained by society's norms of normal and abnormal. One being Murphy as his parents call him, but everyone else calls him Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor). He is the one around whom the story revolves. Barfi is a hearing and speech impaired boy always ready with a prank up his sleeve, he's quite the charmer, especially with the ladies in Darjeeling. Barfi is the talk of the town.
